The SleepZip cooling wedge keeps you gently, comfortably elevated all night — so acid stays down, airways stay open, and your back and neck finally get a break. Layered memory foam, a breathable zip-off cover, and an angle you actually set yourself.
Sleeping flat lets stomach acid travel up, lets the tongue and soft palate collapse the airway, and leaves your lower back unsupported. A gentle incline addresses all three at once. Here's what people tell us changes first.
Keeping your head and chest above your stomach uses gravity to help keep acid where it belongs. Many people with GERD report fewer middle-of-the-night flare-ups within the first week or two.
A slight incline helps keep the upper airway open, which often softens or reduces snoring — and tends to make a lighter sleeper next to you a lot happier, too.
The contoured foam fills the gap behind your lower back and supports the neck instead of stacking pillows that slide apart by 2 a.m. Good for reading and recovering upright as well.
Flip it under your legs to elevate tired, swollen feet and ankles, or use it for comfortable post-surgery elevation when your doctor recommends keeping a limb raised.

Most wedge pillows are one stiff foam triangle at one fixed height — too tall for some people, too short for others, and hot to sleep on. We built the SleepZip wedge in two stacking sections so you can choose your incline, with a gel-infused memory foam top that contours to your shoulders instead of pushing back.
No tools, no assembly, no waiting days for foam to "off-gas." It arrives compressed, expands while you make tea, and you sleep on it that night.
Slide the wedge out of the box and let it breathe. It reaches full shape in about an hour — most people set it up after dinner and it's ready by bedtime.
Start with the single lower section for a gentle rise. If you want more lift for reflux or snoring, stack the second piece for the steeper incline. Adjust any night.
Rest your head, shoulders, and upper back along the slope. Give your body a few nights to get used to the new position — most people stop noticing it's there and just sleep.
I have had acid reflux for years and woke up coughing almost every night. My GI doctor kept telling me to stop sleeping flat and prop myself up, but the towel-under-the-mattress thing never worked. Three weeks on this wedge and I've slept through the night more often than not. I keep it on the lower setting — the high one was a little much for me at first.
Bought it mostly so my wife would stop elbowing me about the snoring. Honestly didn't expect much. About two weeks in she said it's noticeably quieter, and I'm waking up less stuffed-up. The cover really is cool to the touch, which I didn't believe until I felt it. Took me a few nights to get used to sleeping at an angle.
After my hip replacement the surgeon wanted me sleeping somewhat upright for a few weeks and this was a lifesaver compared to the mountain of pillows I was sliding off of. Firm but not hard. I'm 71 and could set it up myself, which I appreciated. Still using it under my legs now that I'm healed up to keep the swelling down.
Does what it says. The reflux is much better and I like that the cover zips off and washes. My only gripe is I wish it were a couple inches wider — when I roll onto my side my shoulder hangs off the edge a bit. Not a dealbreaker, and I'm a big guy. Would still buy it again.
My husband and I each ordered one (got the 2-pack, which made it cheaper). I use it for my lower back, which has bothered me since I retired from nursing, and he uses his for breathing. The two-height thing is the selling point for me — we each have it set differently. Took about an hour to puff up out of the box. Very pleased.
I'm a light sleeper and was worried memory foam would feel hot — that's why I avoided wedges for so long. This one genuinely stays cooler than my regular pillow. The reflux relief was the goal and it delivered, but the surprise was just not getting that stuffy, sweaty feeling. Shipping was quick too, came in two days.
Every order ships free in the lower 48 and comes with the 60-night trial. If it's not for you, send it back — no restocking fees, no hassle.
Most people start with the lower single section for the first few nights. It's a gentle 7° rise that's easy to get used to. If you have stronger reflux symptoms, or your doctor has suggested a steeper angle, stack both sections for roughly 12°. You can change it any night, so it's worth trying both and seeing which one you wake up feeling best on.
Yes. The slope is wide enough to support side sleeping along the incline — many side and back sleepers use it without any trouble. If you're broad-shouldered or like to spread out, the single (lower) setting tends to feel more natural for side sleeping than the full stacked height. A handful of larger reviewers do wish it were a touch wider, which is honest feedback worth knowing.
The comfort layer is gel-infused memory foam, and the zip cover is a breathable bamboo-rayon knit that feels cool to the touch — both help move heat away instead of trapping it the way a dense foam triangle does. It won't feel like an ice pack, but reviewers who avoided wedges specifically because foam runs hot consistently say this one sleeps noticeably cooler than they expected.
No — the SleepZip wedge is a comfort and positioning pillow, not a medical device, and it isn't a treatment or cure for any condition. Sleeping on an incline is a positioning approach many doctors suggest alongside their care, and a lot of our customers find it helps. But if you have GERD, sleep apnea, or are recovering from surgery, please follow your own doctor's guidance.
The cover unzips completely and is machine washable — wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry or tumble low. We don't recommend washing the foam itself; spot-clean it if needed and let it air out. Because the whole cover comes off, it's a lot easier to keep fresh than wedges with a cover sewn on.
Sleep on it for up to 60 nights. If it's not right for you, email us at support@sleepzip.com and we'll set up a return for a full refund of the product price — no restocking fee. We just ask that you give it at least two weeks, since most people need a few nights to adjust to sleeping on an incline. Full details are on our Refund Policy page.
Try the SleepZip wedge for 60 nights. If you're not sleeping easier, send it back. Free shipping both ways.
